Kate Coleman Equestrian is a holistic eventing and dressage training program focusing on the physical and emotional harmony between horse and rider from the ground up, and from the inside out. I believe a slow, methodical program with the focus on correct development and biomechanics creates a sounder, happier horse who thrives in any discipline.
My program is based out of the beautiful Creekside Eventing Complex in Brunswick Hills, Ohio.
With over 25 years of performance horse training experience, my holistic approach to training for the competition ring centers around both horse and rider being in a place of emotional and physical balance. Relaxation in connection during groundwork and ridden work is where I believe the best learning occurs. This safe and patient place coupled with consistent body work, bioscans, a supportive diet and correct farriery, lays the foundation for long lasting, positive training to succeed in any discipline.
My training program encompasses the entire horse - nose to tail, hooves to mane, and everything in between. It has been carefully developed with students of most ages, riding levels and desires, with a focus on eventing and dressage. Lessons and training sessions are uniquely tailored to each specific individual, encompassing ground work, Balance Through Movement Method exercises, nervous system regulating techniques, proper rider and horse biomechanics, dressage fundamentals and jumping. We are frequently out competing in nationally recognized and local events and dressage shows, so please contact me for current availability and rates.
I am honored to be an apprentice for both Balance Through Movement Method (including Lazaris Nerve Release Techniques) as well as the Rider Pillars teams! Both of these programs are beautifully designed to help horses and humans unwind compensatory patterns while simultaneously strengthening the body with careful biomechanical exercises, all while maintaining a parasympathetic nervous system. These programs have become a very important part of my training system.
In addition to my training program, I also offer distance equine bioscans to ensure the health of our horses from the inside out. A bioscan is a FDA class 2 medical device combining acupuncture, biofeedback and homeopathy that points out what areas in the body are needing extra attention.
Step one of my process - This computerized test analyzes the balance of the internal systems on a cellular level, by recording the reaction of the body against tens of thousands of stressors they encounter on a daily basis, including but not limited to diet, allergens, viruses, environmental factors and discomfort. I run numerous anatomical folders consisting of specific joints, bones, muscles, vertebrae, nerves and nerve segments, teeth, sinuses, meridians, etc in order to map the entire body.
Step two of my process - I test the supplements and feed the horse consumes, to ensure this is not contributing to the inflammation/imbalances that are happening within the body. Unfortunately what I commonly see is that our best intentions when picking these dietary components can create more issues than good when mixed together. If needed, I can then test what other options would resonate better within the horse. With the feedback from steps one and two, we can create a suggested protocol to bring the body back into homeostasis.
* I am not a vet, I cannot diagnosis or give medical advice, rather a list of what the body scans as in and not in balance. *
